How We teach
We maintain small class sizes of no more than 8 students. Our multisensory approach provides multiple ways to learn which tap into students’ learning strengths to make connections and form memories that drive authentic understanding and application. We use research-based methodologies including: Orton-Gillingham; Visualizing and Verbalizing; Story Grammar Marker; Framing Your Thoughts; Touch Math; and Math-U-See.
What We Teach
Glenwood Academy curriculum aligns with the Maryland State Department of Education standards, and resembles Howard County Public Schools curriculum. We utilize technology and accommodations, and individualize each students’ education plan to meet them where they are, and bring them up to where they need to be. Progress is monitored by identifying and measuring learning outcomes throughout the year. We offer related arts including technology, music, art, and physical education to develop the whole child.
